In 2022, the U.S. Army made a historic decision by selecting the MCX-SPEAR as the XM7 service rifle. Paired with the innovative 6.8×51 hybrid ammunition, the MCX-SPEAR sets a new standard for rifle performance and capability.
With muzzle velocities exceeding 3,000 FPS from a 16” barrel using a 113gr bullet, the MCX-SPEAR meets the Army’s stringent performance and durability requirements. For the first time, this cutting-edge technology is available to U.S. civilians through the MCX-SPEAR rifle chambered in 6.8×51, complemented by SIG SAUER’s Hybrid Ammunition. The MCX-SPEAR also boasts exceptional modularity, allowing for caliber conversions between 6.8×51, 7.62×51, and 6.5 Creedmoor, with options for 13” or 16” barrel lengths. Additionally, it features a non-reciprocating side charging handle, a rear charging handle, fully ambidextrous controls, a 2-Stage Match Duo Trigger, and a free-floating M-LOK™ handguard.
